Top 5 Las Vegas Suburbs to Live In

Sin City has a reputation of being all neon lights and casinos. While this may be true for a portion of the city, there are very nice areas to live in the suburbs of the city. These suburbs offer safe, attractive living quarters for everyone.

Henderson

Less than 20 miles southeast of the city, this charming town is as family friendly as they come. Forbes recently ranked it number two in safest places to live in the United States. The locals are passionate about getting outdoors on one of the many hiking trails. You will also find some of the best cuisine Nevada has to offer in the town’s restaurants.

Boulder City

Thirty minutes southeast of the strip, Boulder City is all about down home values and embracing the quaint aspects of the past. The small town, quiet atmosphere makes it the perfect place to retire. Boulder City boasts inexpensive housing, squeaky clean streets and is one of the few towns in Nevada where gambling is illegal. As an added bonus, you are right in the backyard of the Hoover Dam.

Primm

If you enjoy a small town atmosphere while meeting and interacting with people from all over the world, Primm is a great place to put down roots. At just under 300, the population of full time residents is as small as they come. Despite the tiny population, the town boasts three large casinos that attract gamblers from all over the world. Residents often work at one of the casinos or at one of the two large outlet malls.

Summerlin

Directly to the west of the city is the active community of Summerlin. Residents love to get outdoors and bike, jog and play tennis. This planned community is a picturesque area packed with shops and restaurants. The schools have been named some of the best in the nation. The milder desert climate and excellent public services attract affluent residents.

North Las Vegas

This fast growing community is set against the stunning backdrop of Sheep Range Mountains. The diverse town is home to a satellite campus of the College of Southern Nevada. With a number of parks and youth sports leagues, this is a great place to raise a family. The city also houses two golf courses that welcome those of all ages and skill levels.
